Courts continue limited operations on Friday, September 30
On Canada’s National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, the
Provincial Court has scaled back operations, but emergent matters will continue
to be heard.
Although a majority of matters have been scheduled for
other days, those that are urgent will continue to be heard in court on that
day. If you have received a notice that you have an appearance on September
30, you still need to appear. Counters will remain open for members of the
public seeking court services.
The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is an
important commemoration, one that the Court will be recognizing through renewed
efforts pertaining to more equitable access to Justice for Indigenous
individuals and communities, and through staff training and awareness
activities that will take place on September 30.
