Language Line Interpreting Service
As of September 4, the Language Line interpreting service will be available in every Court of Queen's Bench courtroom in Alberta. Language Line is a handy option for use in short matters where an in-person interpreter is not easily available. The service has capacity for more than 200 languages including some indigenous languages (although limited) and can be accessed in the courtroom within a few minutes. In some cases, it will avoid the need for an adjournment. It will also be available at all QB counters across the province by the end of September. Clerks have been trained in the use of the service and are ready to facilitate the process.
