Family Focused Protocol

The Family Focused Protocol (FFP) is a series of processes focused on a family-centered, resolution-oriented and streamlined approach to family matters, applicable to Family and Divorce proceedings at all Court of King’s Bench Judicial Centres.

FFP Inquiries

For assistance with the digital filing service (for example, where the wrong document has been uploaded, a file number was entered incorrectly, or a filing deadline was not entered and the submission must be reviewed by the end of the day), please contact Family Digital Filing: KBFDDigitalFilingInquiries@just.gov.ab.ca. 

For technical support (account issues; documents not appearing in drop down lists; dashboard not advancing to the next screen; error messages), and for feedback on improvements for future digital enhancements: jsg.filingfamilysupport@gov.ab.ca. 

To follow up or to escalate if you have not received a response after 48 hours regarding matters submitted through qbfiling or the digital services: KBA.LeadershipTeam@just.gov.ab.ca.

For inquiries regarding FFP procedures, issues with clerk rejections, and other process or procedure inquiries: KBOFFPInquiries@just.gov.ab.ca. Other inquiries submitted here will be forwarded to the appropriate email for response.

FFP Feedback

The FFP is a significant change in the way that family matters are handled at the Court of King’s Bench. Feedback is encouraged as the Court implements and refines the new processes. For issues not identified in the FFP Manual, issues with forms, the Alberta Courts website, and for general feedback on the FFP process, feedback may be provided by via the email address: kbexternalfeedback@albertacourts.ca.
